Medical Qigong

Welcome!

This highly effective ancient Chinese health care system has been developed for thousands of years, empowering self healing, improving vitality, while calming the mind, increasing intuition and creative power.

The gentle movements are designed to move energy through our meridian system utilized in acupuncture, with an emphasis on combining coordinated breathing techniques, sound vibration, visualization, and mindful intent while drawing energy from the natural forces of the Universe.

Qigong is a powerful and enjoyable way to enhance health, suitable for all ages.  By definition, Qi (Chi) means “life energy” and gong pronounced "gung", means accomplishment or skill that is cultivated through steady practice.

"What I love about Qigong, is everyone derives an immediate benefit from the very beginning and those benefits increase in proportion with regular practice."

The concept of a life force is found in most of the ancient cultures of the world and has been written about and studied for over ten thousand years. In China it's called chi or qi; in Japan, ki; in India it is called prana; in Hawaii, mana; the ancient Egyptians referred to it as ka; Hebrew, ruach and in Greece it's known as pneuma.  For these cultures and others as well,the idea of life force is central to their forms of medicine and healing.

The balance of Yin and Yang (male and female, positive and negative electromagnetic energy) which flows through everything creation, is the foundation of many health and fitness practices, which include but not limited to; Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qigong, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Ayurvedic Medicine, Yoga, Tai Chi, Reiki, Feng Shui and Massage.

By cultivating Chi all aspects of our health benefit, including strengthening our immune system, overcoming illnesses, improving our concentration, coordination, intuition and our longevity.

Qigong is a holistic path to wellbeing; in modern China is often called yang sheng, “ the art of nurturing life” cultivating the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our life.

Qigong has been found to have countless health benefits such as increasing core strength, blood flow, bone density, enzyme activity, serum lipid levels and cardiovascular health.  It reduces stress, and risk of stroke, greatly improves asthma, and has anti-cancer and anti-aging effects.

Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center / Integrative Therapies Program / by Katherine Gallagher (p.7)

states, "Clinical studies have found that Qigong positively affects psychological and emotional symptoms including anxiety, mood, depression and quality of life. Qigong also help decrease physical symptoms such as pain, numbness, dizziness, fatigue, and inflammation."

Athletes enjoy Qigong because it improves strength, stamina, coordination, and other skills necessary for peak performance.

As a spiritual art, it deepens awareness of self and nature and creates a feeling of harmony, tranquility, and peace.

Spiritual Qigong is not the quest to have a metaphysical or transcendental experience.  It's the practice of mindfulness, a state of active, open attention on the present. When you're mindful, you carefully observe your thoughts and feelings without judging them good or bad.  It means living in the moment and awakening to your current experience, internally and externally.

Research has also found regular Qigong training will;
